Specialist Women’s Health & Rehab Physiotherapist

Aby specialises in Women’s Health & Exercise Rehab, her background is in Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine where she has worked with athletes of all abilities, from amateur runners to professional athletes. She moved into the Women’s Health specialism after personally experiencing the challenge of postnatal recovery. She is now passionate about guiding women from childbirth all the way through to a full active life, whether that is playing on the trampoline with the children or elite-level sport. By combining her skill set in sport with pelvic health she hopes she can give women the confidence that anything is possible in their post-baby bodies. Aby will be presenting on the exercise side of c-section recovery, exploring the principles of pelvic floor and core rehabilitation – and the special considerations that are needed for c-section recovery.

Louise has gained a wealth of experience throughout her career working in the NHS and private practice in London and Cheltenham. Louise is passionate about raising awareness about women’s health and holistic care, looking at the whole person, physically and emotionally. She believes in working within a team of dedicated professionals to help women achieve optimal health and well-being. As a result, she has established partnerships with local, like-minded specialists.

As a mother of two, she has a good understanding of many issues faced by the women she treats giving a level of empathy that is important when discussing and dealing with personal matters. Louise will be discussing the emotional side of childbirth, in particular postnatal depression and post-traumatic stress disorder following c-section and traumatic deliveries.

Chartered Physiotherapist and Mummy MOT Practitioner

Sarah is a HCPC registered Chartered Physiotherapist, with 20 years experience, including NHS in Orthopaedics, Neurology, ITU and respiratory surgery, Musculoskeletal (MSK) and as a Senior Physiotherapist in Women’s Health. Sarah will be talking about her own journey as a Mummy MOT Practitioner and how she assesses and treats C-Section patients within her own clinic in Torbay. Sarah will also be discussing integrating LymphaTouch into her practice and conducting her own c-section scar case study following giving birth via emergency c-section to both of her sons almost 18 and 12 years ago.
